Cory, please write me at seasplsh@yahoo.com. I was wondering how you obtained loans when your mother passed away. I almost lost my father a year ago. If I would of lost him, college would not of been practical since he was my co-signer. He is still at risk of possibly passing away. If he does, I guess I will be back to the streets and probably working a low paying job since I will have no one to co-sign for a loan for me. Is there any way to get around the system? It seems like you have to come from a rich family to go to college just like how the government keeps stafford and unstafford loans within the school for two months before disbursing them. How is a needy student supposed to get by on Ramen noodles for two months until the funds come in and live on a credit card if they are capable of obtaining one? My first semester I risked getting kicked out of my apartment because funds were being held back from me. Oh, and now the school has fraudulently taken over $30,000 in my name! I know because I called the lender that sent it to them!!!!! It is a big name school so watch out in the future! I still have the mess to deal with since I have not heard back from my attorney! Well, take care. Cadet (seagirl)

Hi, Collegegrad.....This is (cadet) (seagirl) writting to you. I cannot help but I feel for you. I have been studying to become a ship captain and injured my back on the government ship. However, the school (academy) is not paying up. There is a stipulation that says that only "working seaman" can get compensation and that "cadets" are not included in the legal jurisdiction. Crazy right? Well, I am 80% better and plan on going back but dang...reading your letter really gave me insight about the costs of education in more ways than one. I thought I would have to go into another profession due to the injury and then loose the costs of education that I have already paid into the academy. I was put up towards a ROTC scholarship but could not take it due to my injury. They were going to give me an age waiver because of my outstanding grades which are usually never shy of 100% on practically all my tests. Oh well. I don't know what is down the road for me. I thought of becomming a neurologist since years ago I was affected by a contract (gov't) company and many chemicals. They left me for dead overseas and fled the area. I eventually suffered some homelessness with partial paralysis. Fortunately, though a man was homeless himself and we lived in my car on the most part. He got me from point A to point B to and back from medical facilities. I could not breathe and eventually had some neurological damage and internal swelling in my head that gov't hospitals would only hide from me at that time until I accidently stubbled acrossed the evidence with an intern doctor on his first day of training. It hurt to even touch my skin. My hair was falling out. My eye swelled shut and I heard cracking in my head that doctors said that it was from stress and they did not know why my eye was swollen shut. They did though! They had an MRI with the results! I studied for the next two years with periods of memory loss on how to help myself and sought out a civilian doctor to help me. Yes, I was military long ago before I started working for the company but I was enlisted. I joined the company after my time of service. That was a big mistake. I only did it to save money for schooling. Here I would of never of had to of done that. My grades pay for everything. Well, so I wish....if it were not for the recent accident onboard a ship. I had discovered my injury myself just like how I got myself out of my neurological troubles that the military VA never helped me with. I got better on my own on the most part and regained my memory back. An MRI from not long ago showed that everything is back to normal. Goes to show studying online can really help. I found a doctor willing to experiment with a medication that cured my illness usually for brain tumor patients. It worked! ....Well, so I thought it might be benificial to study medicine. I still want to go back to ships. I will have to see. I am almost through my therapy now. That has always been my dream and I miss my military days. Those were the best! Well, take care....(Cadet)....Oh, and by the way I have much more debt than meets thee eye....including fraud from the academy....with student loans!!!!!....and over $30,000 of medical debts from doctors whom only turned me away when I spoke of being injured from a gov't contract company. They never helped except talk to me. They never even put me on any medications. It was like I was paying someone to be my friend. I never could seem to get welfare....or any government assistance. I had to prove something was even wrong to get that. I also could not be living in with family. I had managed to get an emergency flight to the U.S. but after living with family I found I did not qualify for gov't aid for medical bills since I would then be considered to be under my family's income. They only made enough to make ends meet with paying for the house we all lived in. Well, I suppose I should go now. seasplsh@yahoo.com
